Bodega Brew Pub – La Crosse, Wisconsin

Bodega a la Noche by digital<>analog, on Flickr

The Bodega Brew Pub occupies a building that dates back to the late 1800′s. In the 1890′s the building housed the Malin Pool and Sample room. In the early 1900′s after Malin’s death it operated as the Union Saloon. Today as the Bodega Brew Pub, you can choose from an extraordinary selection of beers and grab pub grub from the menu.

Stories

It is said that a former owner of the pool room that occupied this building in the 1890′s hung himself here in 1901 and his ghost has haunted the place ever since. Owners and employees tell stories of appearances, noises, slamming doors, and objects moving around. A customer claimed to sense a disturbing cold spot that moved through her body as she was touring the basement, a supposed focal point of paranormal activity.
